Privacy choices for a browser-based love language test

You can complete all 42 questions, view seven dimension scores and three lenses, create a seven-day plan, and generate a partner comparison link without entering a name or email address. During the unfinished love language test, the browser stores a draft so the same device can resume. Scoring runs locally. Once results are generated, the individual draft answers are removed and one summarized profile is saved in this browser until you delete it or clear site data.

KindredCue does not currently provide accounts, cloud result storage, mailing lists inside the test flow, user profiles, comments, or direct messaging. We do not ask for relationship status, partner identity, sexual orientation, health information, contact lists, or payment details. Do not submit sensitive information by email. Like any website, hosting infrastructure may process ordinary request information needed to deliver pages and protect service reliability.

KindredCue uses the web platform's localStorage feature for three device-level purposes. The unfinished questionnaire draft is keyed to the quiz version so it can continue after a language change and contains selected 1–5 responses plus the current position. After scoring, those individual answers are removed and a separate key stores only the completed seven-score and three-lens summary so a reload can recover it. A third key remembers the light or dark theme. The result can be deleted in the test; browser settings can clear all site data.

Local storage is not the same as a KindredCue account or server database. Other people using the same browser profile may be able to resume an unfinished draft, so shared-device users should reset after use or clear the site's stored data. Private-browsing behavior varies by browser and may delete data when the private session closes. The WHATWG HTML Standard defines web storage, while each browser controls its interface and retention behavior.

When you choose “Copy private partner link,” KindredCue encodes the completed seven-dimension summary and three lens summaries into the URL fragment after the # symbol. Individual 42-item answers, names, and email addresses are not included. Under ordinary web navigation, browsers do not send a fragment in the HTTP request for the page. The invited browser reads it locally so it can display the invitation and later compare two summaries.

This design reduces server disclosure, but a partner link is still information. Anyone who receives, screenshots, forwards, or gains access to the link may decode or view the summarized profile. The MVP cannot remotely expire or revoke a fragment-only link because KindredCue does not store it. Share only with someone you choose, use a private channel appropriate to your situation, and delete the message if you no longer want it available.

A web host, content delivery network, domain provider, or security service may process information that browsers normally send when requesting a page, such as IP address, request time, requested URL, user-agent string, approximate region, response status, and security signals. Such processing supports delivery, abuse prevention, incident investigation, and operational reliability. KindredCue will limit access and retention to what is reasonably necessary for those purposes and provider requirements.

We do not promise that internet transmission is risk-free. If a security incident materially affects information under our control, we will assess applicable notification duties. Privacy, deletion, correction, and security questions can be sent to [email protected] without including test answers or intimate details. Because no account connects a person to a local draft, we generally cannot retrieve or delete browser data on a user's behalf.

The initial MVP does not intentionally place third-party advertising inside the test or results. If KindredCue later enables third-party advertisers, including Google, those providers may use cookies, web beacons, pixel tags, IP addresses, or similar technologies to serve, measure, personalize, or limit advertisements, subject to applicable consent requirements. Google explains: “Cookies help to make advertising more effective.” Any activation must be reflected in this policy and in an appropriate consent or preference interface before advertising technologies run.

Google and other third-party advertisers may select ads using visits to this and other sites, depending on settings, law, and the advertising configuration. Users may be able to manage personalized advertising through provider controls, browser settings, regional consent tools, or industry opt-out mechanisms. KindredCue will not describe advertising as anonymous when an advertising provider processes identifiers. We will also avoid inserting ads between quiz questions or fragmenting the personal result explanation.

KindredCue may later use privacy-conscious analytics to understand aggregate page performance, language demand, errors, and completion friction. Before activation, we will document the provider, events, fields, retention, legal basis where required, and available controls. We will not intentionally send individual questionnaire responses or decoded partner summaries as analytics event properties. A future material change will receive a revised effective date and, when appropriate, prominent notice or fresh consent.

The site is available internationally, while privacy rights and operator obligations vary by location. Nothing in this policy limits rights that cannot legally be waived. Users may contact us about applicable access, deletion, objection, restriction, or complaint rights, although device-only data is controlled through the browser rather than our systems. If a conflict exists between a translated policy and the English operational meaning, we will correct the translation rather than quietly rely on ambiguity.
